New Frontiers Full LogoWhat are some new and noteworthy approaches to writing biography and history for young readers? How is the range of historical subjects being expanded today to include people whose stories have been previously untold or under-represented?

This year’s conference explores these and other questions with four of today’s most highly-regarded, innovative authors of history-based books for children and young adults: Tonya Bolden, Candace Fleming, Emily Arnold McCully, and Andrea Davis Pinkney.

The program also includes workshop sessions with two leading proponents for creative use of nonfiction in the classroom: Myra Zarnowski of Queens College/CUNY and Mary Ann Cappiello of Lesley University.

Registration is required for this program.
